Okay, everybody. If you haven't already, you should join Good Reads. I am totally addicted to it! I have already added 164 books to my "read" shelf. I cannot be stopped! I think I'm listed by my first name there (Shawna, for the few who may have forgotten.) There can't be THAT many Shawnas on the site. But if you join, friend me! I love to see what people have read or are reading.

Again, I am lax. I haven't gotten around to talking about my two wild weekends--remind me to divulge if you are interested--and now I'm headed off on what I hope will be a very relaxing and fun week in PEI!

I have a new 2 GB memory card for my camera (the 2GB was five bucks cheaper than the 1GB, go fig.) and now I can take 2,558 full sized pictures. Yowza! I don't think I'll take that many (I'd be risking a very sore finger indeed if I did), but I'll share those that I do when I come back.

I hope everyone has a fun Memorial Day weekend!

There is NO earthly reason why I should still be up. I'm already regretting tomorrow. But, I am awake (startlingly so) and just wanted to say that I saw a GREAT scene on The Riche$ tonight.

I've been watching it, but I tuned in late for this episode. This scene, though, MAN.Collapse )

That is all.

I didn't even see this companion test--thanks, Laurie!

I set out to answer as honestly as possible and still be Jimmy Stewart. First try, suckers!!!

Jimmy Stewart

You scored 21% Tough, 9% Roguish, 57% Friendly, and 14% Charming!

You are the fun and friendly boy next door, the classic nice guy who
still manages to get the girl most of the time. You're every nice
girl's dreamboat, open and kind, nutty and charming, even a little
mischievous at times, but always a real stand up guy. You're dependable
and forthright, and women are drawn to your reliability, even as
they're dazzled by your sense of adventure and fun. You try to be tough
when you need to be, and will gladly stand up for any damsel in
distress, but you'd rather catch a girl with a little bit of flair.
Your leading ladies include Jean Arthur and Donna Reed, those sweet
girl-next-door types.

Katharine Hepburn

You scored 11% grit, 42% wit, 47% flair, and 9% class!

You are the fabulously quirky and independent woman of character. You
go your own way, follow your own drummer, take your own lead. You stand
head and shoulders next to your partner, but you are perfectly willing
and able to stand alone. Others might be more classically beautiful or
conventionally woman-like, but you possess a more fundamental common
sense and off-kilter charm, making interesting men fall at your feet.
You can pick them up or leave them there as you see fit. You share the
screen with the likes of Spencer Tracy and Cary Grant, thinking men who
like strong women.

Go to http://www.popculturemadness.com/music and find the year you turned 18, or the year you graduated high school. Bold the songs you liked and strike through the ones you loathed at the time.

The ones that aren't marked/struck through are either those songs which you don't have an opinion on or are ones you don't remember.

Looking at this list makes me laugh. Lots of Hootie, La BOUCHE!!!, Streisand? and Donna Lewis? Strange days, man.

Were any of the paid users in the house aware of this? I mean, a free week's a free week. And, I've been a paid member for most of the 4+ years I've had a livejournal, so if they're offering, I'm taking them up on it.

Also! Since having little to no internet access for months on end, when I do go online, my habits have become "craven and circuitous" so I require everyone to reply with links to fun and interesting sites.

*afterglow*

I mean, we've got to enjoy it while we can, before the Republicans start blaming us for everything and saying it was us all along blah blah blah.

I am going to write about For Your Consideration and it's going to be spoiler-filled, so I'll lj-cut.

SPOILER ALERT: FOR YOUR CONSIDERATIONCollapse )

My horoscope today?: "All signs have days that are close to perfect. This one is just that. Think in terms of expressing your authenticity and personality. Tonight: All smiles." Now, I wish I hadn't read that. I don't place much stock in horoscopes, but when you read one like that (they are on the same page as my beloved Jumble and I end up reading it most weekdays) you are bound to feel a modicum of disappointment, because the day is probably just going to be a day. I almost wish that if I read it at all, I had read it tomorrow, because then I could objectively look at the day and say, "Yesterday WAS pretty keen," or "Yesterday sucked, what a load of old bollocks." Well, what a load of old bollocks in either case, more probably. But NOW I have this stupid "perfect day" nonsense rattling around my brain on the very day that is supposed to be "perfect." Bastardization. It's like a spoiler for my LIFE that has spoiled my day. Huh.

See, I was all excited because today is November 1st, which I thought to be the first day of White Christmas season. However, I was informed by a co-worker that it is officially Thanksgiving Day through Twelfth Night. So, I stand corrected, but I still might have to watch it soon.

If I could legally marry a television show, it would have to be QI. I would propose to it in a beautiful grassy glade under a huge willow tree. We would live so happily together, trading witticisms and arcane facts. Ahhh, 'twould be bliss.

Being sick is totally sucky. I came to work anyway, because I was working on a project with a supervisor and she has the rest of the week off, so I wanted to be here to finish up. Now, I just want to grab a drill and a bucket.
